Stephen Skelton and the American Bible Project – January 2021 Meeting in Review

Stephen Skelton, the founder of the American Bible Project, was our speaker at the January meeting. He spoke about the Project and how an Aitken Bible is being placed in the hands of every teacher who teaches students about the American Revolution. Aitken Bibles were also being put in each school library through donations. This is occurring in Tennessee schools as well as many other state schools. Stephen shared during the American Revolution, colonist were unable to get copies of the King James Bible, so the Aitken Bible was printed and made available for purchase. The Founding Fathers approved the Aitken Bible and actually encouraged colonists to read it. The Aiken Bible which the American Bible Project is sharing is the authentic reproduction of the first American Bible. Historians refer to the Aitkin Bible as the “Bible of the American Revolution”. Mr. Skelton was an excellent speaker sharing important, historical information that was positive and showed how this good work continues to take place in the United States. It was wonderful to hear that many of our members supported Stephen and this Project
